Description

Onesya has eight years of experience in fisheries management and community development, with expertise in navigating the complex social dynamics of Small-Scale Fisheries (SSF), gained through close collaboration with local NGOs, fishers, and communities. Her responsibilities include coordinating project implementation with local partners, designing capacity-building programs for community groups, and ensuring that fisheries management initiatives are community-driven and aligned with local needs and priorities. Additionally, she oversees environmental and social safeguards for the EDF project in Indonesia.

Background

Prior to joining EDF, Onesya worked as a research assistant in the Anthropology Department at Universitas Gadjah Mada, focusing on marine anthropology and social dynamics in coastal communities.

Onesya holds a master’s degree in Anthropology, Faculty of Cultural Science, Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia.
