Ateng is an accomplished fisheries expert with over 32 years of experience in marine and freshwater ecosystems, specializing in sustainable fisheries management, climate change, habitat restoration, and aquatic resource conservation.  Known for his experiences in designing and implementing research programs, Ateng excels at designing and implementing research programs, analyzing complex data, and developing strategies to optimize fishery resources while balancing ecological and economic factors. He has a proven track record in collaborating with governmental agencies, NGOs, and local communities to advance sustainable practices and policy development. Recognized for strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and conservation efforts.

Background

Prior to joining EDF, Ateng served as the Fisheries and Aquaculture Program Manager  at Yayasan Konservasi Cakrawala Indonesia.

Ateng earned his Doctoral degree in Capture FIsheries Modeling From IPB University.
